Japanese Craft Beers

Here are some picks of what Ive had so far. There is a liquor store in a shopping mall that is owned and operated by a beer maniac. Hes been to SD to check out some of the breweries and shit and he speaks english too. Here are some of the Japanese craft brews that he recommended to me. Im a hop head so IPA's ONLY!!!



Ao Oni or "Blue Demon"
These are ¥280 per can. Great for the price and easy to drink. 7%



Minoh Beer W-IPA
In Japan if you want a DOUBLE cheese burger it would be called a W-Cheese Berger. So, this one is a double IPA. ¥580 per bottle. 9%



Shiga Kogen IPA
Made with fresh hops from Finland or something. Since its hop season in Japan, the current batch is made with Japanese hops. 6%


Best tasting would be the Minoh Double IPA but its pretty pricey. Its the most bitter Japanese beer Ive had so but its still not bitter enough. The 9% is pretty rad and it made me feel pretty good. The Blue Demon is rad. At 7% with a cheap price, its going to be my go to beer here in Japan. You people might thing that $2.80 is expensive for a CAN of beer but this is Japan. Everything is expensive here.

Ive been drinking these craft brews for a little over a week, then I had an Asahi beer and it tasted like watered down piss.

Its a Kirin Nodogoshi beer glass.

It was free with the purchase of 3 tall cans. Its an alright beer. Here is a pic of the beer can.





It would be better if I could drink beer out of a pint glass. Need to find one of those in Japan...but where?!
