WNITA is my fav YOT record...I think it's the most solid, and it sounds the best. First five songs are so intense and perfect. Only clunkers on the record are Keep it Up and the No More intro thing, but Keep it Up is kind of salvaged by being a song about having beef with Half Off.
Ray's vox on the final 7" suck for sure, but the songs are awesome, and like Colin said, the recording rules. My fav Shelter album is Attaining the Supreme. When I used to work at Lazerstar in Oxnard, it was a nightmare cuz I'd have to be in the dark lazertag room 8 hours a day and they'd have techno bumping. The night manager was pretty cool though, and if it was dead he said I could play my own music as long as there was no bad language. Well, the only two CDs I had with no cussing was Attaining the Supreme and a censored version of Warren G's "Regulate" (!!!) that Posi Josh from Carry On had given me for some reason, so I'd listen to those all the time. I'm also a sucker for that pop punk record they did way later: Beyond Planet Earth.

i'm kind of in the middle of all of you. the first 5 tracks are great and i could hear on repeat for hours. but after that im like...WHATEVER...and by the end of Understand im wishing i was listening to the "the way it is" version anyway.

Chad dawg, I assume you're reffering to the 12" version of CCME? When you listen to the first 7" mix, BDTW is a HUGE step up. But the 12" version is probably their best/leasr fucked up sounding recording.

As far as Shelter goes, the first 7" and Perfection of Desire are the only recordings I really like. There's a few good songs off Mantra that I've heard, but I don't own the album. The only "Krishnacore" band I was really into was 108.

yeah i don't think i've ever heard the mix on the 7" version...always had the 12". i remember when i first bought ccme and it blew my mind because before that i had never heard such over-the-top vocals (granted, this was still one of the first couple dozen hc records i purchased, but still...). |

That last single didn't do much for me. A lot of it probably has to do with the era. Youth Of Today had their own sound that had become copied by so many others at the time, but the last 7" sounds more like the "others" than Youth Of Today. I've never listened to a Shelter record.

CCME (12" version) is so great. That was the first YOT I ever heard and I loved it. I went through a weird period where I decided I didn't like it for a while though, but of course came back. Straight up ripper.
