ditto on this, since this is one of my dream line-ups of one of my all time favorite bands. if it was just an l.a. show with actual tickets sold i would have to go for it, but since you have to rsvp and then get there at the crack of dawn just to maybe get in with no guarantee and see a bunch of who cares bands, a few good bands, and a couple of hell yes bands, well unfortunately i have to pass.

well, yeah...i get up at 5 in the morning for work and i have a class that meets 4 nights a week (for which i have a big final essay due that next day) and all this other responsible crap. no es bueno.

The Power Of The Riff Festival will reportedly take place at the Echo and Echoplex in Los Angeles, CA on Sunday, August 8th. Organizers state that the event "honors fans and musicians of heavy music of all ages." Bands slated to perform include:

Repulsion
Nails
Coliseum
Night Horse
Black Breath
Eagle Twin
Early Graves
Righteous Fool
Semen Sundae
The Fucking Wrath
Rats Eyes
Spider Fever

The festival will apparently be an all day, all ages, free music event, including a record swap meet of local stores such as Vacation Vinyl and Origami Vinyl, in addition to pop-up stores from Tee Pee Records, Southern Lord Recordings and others. Further details and ticket information have yet to be disclosed.
