Can't find the start and end times on the website. Anybody know these times, or when do they usually start and end? Am I going to have to wait at the front of the stage through twenty bands in order to be up front for DYS or do people go back and forth? One stage, or two stages with people walking back and forth?

The set times aren't said until the day of. Which is cool I guess so peeps get there early to scope it out. You can go in and out. Its laid back and people walk around. Merch is in the same room so there's always shit to do besides watch every band. Hope you cruise out!!

Went on Saturday. This was my first time going to Sound & Fury (or any hardcore fest) and I thought it was pretty cool. I can see why people make a big deal of it and travel for it. My highlights were Living Eyes, Minority Unit, Over My Dead Body, Rotting Out and DYS. Other than DYS and OMDB, I don't think I'd ever heard any of the bands that played.
Seemed to be a lot of chug chugga mutha fucka music. Doesn't translate well to a sunny, ocean breezed, Saturday afternoon in beautiful Santa Barbara as they do this in front of a bunch of nice kids (and I mean that as a compliment) that look like the Beaver. Some band named Rock Bottom did that. As funny as that arms and legs swinging dancing is to me (not knocking it - just a different generation), I did think it was pretty cool that the kids into them started doing it 15 seconds before they even hit their first note. DYS played all of "Brotherhood" except maybe two songs. I was stoked to finally hear these songs live. Franz Stahl of Scream was one of their guitarists. I don't know if most people realize that 99% of those early HC bands from the east coast and midwest never made it out to California, much less San Diego. San Diego mostly got LA bands and big UK bands like GBH. Dave Smalley's baseball cap was knocked off at one point, and in a total fanboy move, I kept it. Got John Anastas pick too. He asked Del Mar and I for help in carrying their equipment off stage. I got to carry the same Marshall head that was used for Last Rights "Chunks", and another used on Scream's records. The band members weren't the only history onstage. Everything ran right on schedule and every band got to play in front of lots of people. |

I just like that the "CD intro over a PA with the lights off" thing is over and done with. People would mosh to that. That was weird.
I went on Sunday. I saw Take Offense, Violation, Ringworm, and Trapped Under Ice. My review: I was intoxicated and walked out with the ugliest bruise of my life. The circle pit was thick as shiiiiiittt.
