I always thought that they sounded a little like what would happen if you mixed Swindle with Born Against. It was Daniel, plus Nick and Mark from Swindle, and a couple of other dudes...maybe Gavin? I don't remember. Their last show was at the Che with Drats, Swindle, and either American Tragedy or Leftover Crack.

ryan and pete were the other original members (pete almost became the original bassist for s.b.v. before we got adam, just because he happened to be friends with doug.). then andy smith replaced pete on bass (andy played in the last line-up of happy dagger as well).

i always dug palpatine more than omdb (and always harassed daniel about this. still like swindle the best out of all of them though)...just more my thing musically i guess. plus they were a ton of fun live. the cd is a tad spotty in retrospect, but still has some pretty rad songs...the later 7" is a much better realized project in my opinion...too bad they didn't stick it out a little longer to keep going in that direction. i bet daniel still has extra copies of both of these lying aroung...track him down and pick them up.

also...this thread is making me feel old. i didn't realize palpatine had been gone long enough for even the "older" younger kids to not know who they were...yowch.
